Fixit Government Services' Amer Lounge, beside Bilal Mosque in Al Satwa, is the Amer center most Satwa residents use; GDRFA files it under Al Bada'a. Four more Amer centers run along the Jumeirah side, and Business Hub in Palm Strip Mall stays open until 22:00 from Sunday to Friday, one of the later Amer closing times in this part of Dubai. Expect an Amer charge of about AED 100 to 300 per transaction on top of GDRFA fees.
Five Amer centers, with addresses and hours
| Neighbourhood | Amer center | Address | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Al Satwa (filed as Al Bada'a) | Fixit Governmnt Services, Al Bada'a Branch | Amer Lounge, beside Bilal Mosque | Not published |
| Jumeirah 1 | Business Hub Government Transactions Center | G 10, Ground Floor, Palm Strip Mall, 40 Jumeirah Street | Sunday to Friday 08:00 to 22:00; Saturday closed |
| Jumeirah 3 | Smart Serve Digital Government Transaction Center | 52 Al Bailee Street | Saturday to Thursday 08:00 to 20:00; Friday closed |
| Umm Suqeim | NYPD Typing | Umm Suqeim Street, opposite Life Pharmacy | Saturday closed; weekday hours conflict on its website |
| Al Wasl | Ontime Hub Government Services | Al Wasl, no building given | Not published |
Names follow GDRFA's spelling, typos included. All five carry the same GDRFA licence, so any of them can type and submit an entry permit, a residence visa, a renewal, a cancellation or a status change. Pick by distance and by hours: Smart Serve is closed on Friday and Business Hub on Saturday, so between them at least one is open every day of the week.
Don't judge a center by its name
NYPD Typing sounds like a private typing shop, but it is a licensed Amer center. The Tasheel counter, Falak Tayyeb Platinum Government Services L.L.C in Al Wasl, uses "Government Services" in its name like many Amer centers, yet it sits on the MOHRE list for labour work. Amer vs Tasheel vs typing center explains how the licences split the work.
Satwa's domestic workers center
Alyazwah Domestic Workers Services Center is the MOHRE Tadbeer center with a Satwa address. The other is Home care center for domestic workers services LLC, at villa 462, Al Wasl Road, Jumeirah 2. Use a Tadbeer center to recruit a housemaid, nanny or driver and process the worker's permit and contract; the rules are on maid visa in Dubai.
The private shops
The list also shows 49 private typing offices and 12 clearing offices, many on Al Satwa Road and its side streets. They type forms, translate and photocopy for about AED 40 to 200 per form, according to published price lists checked . They cannot submit a visa. If a shop takes your papers, ask which Amer center will file them; for Al Bada'a streets see typing centers in Al Bada'a.
Family visas from this side of Dubai
To sponsor a spouse or children, an Amer center submits the entry permit and the residence visa. GDRFA's family page sets a salary of AED 4,000, or AED 3,000 with housing, and the entry permit fee is AED 200 plus 5% VAT. You also need a registered Ejari. The steps are on family visa in Dubai.
Groups with branches elsewhere
- Fixit also has an Amer center and a DLD Ejari trustee center in Al Mamzar, on the Hor Al Anz page.
- Ontime Group runs more licensed points, including an Ejari trustee center at Mazaya Center.
- Falak Tayyeb Platinum has its Amer licence on Sheikh Zayed Road and the Tasheel licence in Al Wasl.
Nearby areas
Karama and Bur Dubai have more Amer centers, and GDRFA's head office is in Al Jafiliya. Al Barsha has the Al Barsha Mall Amer center.
