GDRFA lists no Amer center with an Al Fahidi address. The one licensed visa counter in the old souq area is True Link Government Trasaction Center LLC, listed at the Bur Dubai Grand Souk. Around it our directory has 121 private shops, 70 in Al Fahidi and 51 in Meena Bazar, split into 68 typing offices and 53 clearing offices.
Licensed and private, in numbers
| Kind | Rows | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Amer center | 1 | GDRFA list of Amer centers |
| Private typing office | 68 | HiDubai business directory |
| Private document clearing office | 53 | HiDubai, plus 1 Yellow Pages UAE row |
The private rows were checked in . Neither directory shows when a listing was last updated, so a shop may have moved or closed.
A street-front market
The souq shops are walk-in shops: 89 of the 121 give a ground floor address. Addresses use the main roads of the area as the directory writes them, such as Al Raffa Street, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road, Al Mussallah Road, Al Hisn Street and Al Ghubaiba Road, plus numbered streets like 12A or 33C.
Evenings are long. 58 shops list a closing time of 22:00 or later, and four list 23:00: Al Falah Typing and Photocopying Services, Al Wazeehi Typing and Photocopying Services, Bab Almask Documents Clearing Services and My Pleasure Documents Clearing Services. Al Falah also opens on Sunday and from 16:00 on Friday. Silver Feather Typing Center on 50B Street is an evening shop only, 16:30 to 22:00. Ignore any hours that look impossible; at least one listing shows a time range that is clearly a data error.
Chains and lookalikes
Two names here also appear in Deira. Naif Typing Center, despite its name, has a branch in the Al Sharafi Building on Khalid Bin Waleed Street; our Naif Typing Center branch page lists the others. Amer Obaid Documents Clearing Services has an office in the same building, and it is a private clearing office, not an Amer center. Tasheelat Business Services on 12 Street is also private: the name is not on MOHRE's list. GMAC Documents Clearing Services has two branches in the souq, one in Al Fahidi and one in Meena Bazar.
Which counter for which job
Use a souq shop for typing, photocopies, Emirates ID and medical forms, and translation. Sabnido and Aburuf OKL both list it. Published price lists, checked , put legal translation at about AED 80 to 200 per page and form typing at about AED 40 to 200. If a translated certificate is for a visa, it may also need attestation, which our certificate attestation page explains. A clearing office can carry a file across departments for you, which is what PRO services do at company scale.
For any visa file, go to True Link or to one of the other 12 Amer centers on the Bur Dubai and Jafiliya page, which also covers GDRFA's head office in Al Jafiliya. Karama has four more. The typing center services guide explains why a private shop cannot submit a Dubai visa itself.
