To check your Emirates ID status, open ICP's application tracking page and enter your application number, which always starts with 010. If you applied while logged in to ICP smart services, the application also appears under My Applications in your account. ICP lists 5 days to complete a renewal or a replacement card, and standard cards come by courier.
DubaiTypingCenters.com cannot see your ICP file and does not offer an Emirates ID service. This guide shows which ICP page answers which question.
The two ICP tools and what each one tells you
| You want to know | Use | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Where your card application stands | ICP application tracking | Application number starting with 010 |
| Your own applications, all in one place | My Applications in your ICP account | Your login |
| Whether the residence file behind the card is valid | ICP file validity | Your file or passport details |

Finding the 010 number
The number comes from whoever submitted your application:
- You applied online. It is on the confirmation you get when you submit, and in My Applications.
- A typing center applied for you. It is printed on the receipt. If you lost the paper, ask the center to look it up from the day you went in.
- It was part of a residence renewal. The card application is the one with the 010 number. A Dubai residence visa is tracked on GDRFA instead (see our visa status check guide).
Timing: what is normal
ICP lists 5 days to complete an Emirates ID renewal and 5 days for a lost or damaged card replacement. That count starts once the application is complete, so missing documents or a photo that needs replacing push it back.
Delivery is the last step. A standard card goes out by courier to the phone number on your file. Urgent cards are not couriered: you collect them at an ICP service center. The urgent route costs extra, AED 150 on a lost card replacement, and is only offered at centers.
If the status will not move
Most stuck applications come down to one of these:
- The photo. For renewals ICP needs a new photo, not the one already on your card. For replacements it must meet ICAO standards.
- Fingerprints requested. Holders aged 15 and over are asked to visit an ICP center for fingerprints and signature when ICP needs them. The application waits until you go.
- Passport validity. A renewal needs a passport valid for at least 3 months. A passport renewed after you applied means your data has changed, and that change has to be reported.
- The visa is not done yet. If the card is linked to a residence renewal that GDRFA has not finished, the card follows later.
If a typing center submitted the form, go back to the same center with your 010 number and ask what ICP is waiting for. Going to a new center usually means explaining the case from the start.
Emirates ID card tracking: from approval to your door
"Emirates ID card tracking" usually means one thing: the application is approved, so where is the card? Three stages, in order:
| Stage | What you see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Application in progress | Tracking shows it is still being processed | Wait out the 5 days ICP lists, or fix anything ICP has asked for |
| Card issued | Tracking shows the card is done | Expect the courier call on the phone number in your file |
| Urgent card | Issued for collection | Go to the ICP service center you chose; urgent cards are not couriered |

The courier contacts the mobile number on your ICP file, which is why a wrong or old number is the most common reason a finished card never arrives. If a typing center filled in the form, check which number they used. Once the card is issued, the digital copy in ICP's app can stand in for it while the courier is on the way; our Emirates ID download guide shows how to get it.
Card status versus card validity
A tracking result tells you about one application. It does not tell you whether your current card still works. A resident's card expires when the residence visa expires and is cancelled automatically when the visa is cancelled. So if you are asking "is my Emirates ID still valid?", check the residence file with ICP file validity or, for Dubai visas, with GDRFA.
Two fines to keep in mind while you wait:
- Late renewal: AED 20 per day after the 30 day grace from expiry, up to AED 1,000.
- Unreported changes: AED 20 per day, up to AED 1,000, if a change such as a new passport is not reported within 30 days.
Checking for a family member
The guest tracking page asks only for the application number, so you do not need to log in as the card holder. A sponsor can follow a spouse's or child's card with the 010 number from that person's receipt. Keep each number with the name it belongs to: a family renewal produces one application per person, and mixing them up is the usual reason a parent thinks a child's card is missing when it is simply still in the courier queue.
