Public Services Section (Al Awir Center) is GDRFA's own customer happiness center in Al Awir. It is one of 9 such centers GDRFA lists in Dubai, all run by GDRFA staff rather than by a private Amer operator. GDRFA gives no street address, only "Al Awir".
What a GDRFA center is for
Most residency work never needs a GDRFA office. Renewals, cancellations and entry permits go through an Amer counter or GDRFA's website and app. A GDRFA center is where you go when that route fails: an Amer counter cannot close the file, GDRFA has asked to see you, or a cancellation is held up and you need someone with access to the full record. If you are cancelling a visa, read our visa cancellation guide first; the problem is often a missing document rather than something only GDRFA can fix.
Hours
The doors open at 07:30 from Monday to Thursday and close at 19:00. Friday is split: morning until noon, then back from 14:30 until 19:00. During Ramadan the day shrinks to 09:00 until 17:00, and the Friday break runs from noon to 14:00. Nothing is listed for the weekend. For a counter that runs all night, the only GDRFA office with confirmed 24/7 hours is the Airport Services Center at Terminal 3.
Private counter in the same area
The Al Awir branch of Falak Tayyeb Playinum Government Services is the private Amer counter for the area (FTP Al Awir page). Another out-of-town GDRFA office is Alissely Section in Al Lisaili.
