What you owe a nanny

The visa is only half the file. MOHRE's standard contract binds the employer to rules that are easy to miss:

wages paid within 10 days of the due date
one paid rest day a week and 12 hours of rest a day
at least 30 days of annual leave
a return ticket home every 2 years
medical insurance, which Dubai employers must provide

MOHRE requires its approved contract template, and the worker keeps her own passport. The nanny visa page covers the sponsor papers, and the partner team can run the permit, medical, biometrics and visa for you.

New baby, new file

If the nanny is for a new baby, remember the baby needs a residence file of its own. Overstay fines of AED 50 a day can apply when a newborn registration lapses, so do it early. The newborn visa page lists the papers. The two Al Barsha 2 Amer centers, in Al Barsha Mall and Art of Living Mall, can submit it, or you can apply in the GDRFA app.
