Emirates ID cost

For a resident, the Emirates ID costs AED 100 for each year of residence plus a AED 100 smart application fee, so a card for a 2-year visa is AED 300. A lost card costs AED 300 plus AED 100.

The Emirates ID price for a resident is AED 100 for each year of residence plus a AED 100 smart application fee, paid to ICP. A card for a 2-year residence visa therefore costs AED 300, and for a 5-year visa AED 600. Replacing a lost or damaged card costs AED 300 plus a AED 100 smart service fee. Typing centers add their own charge if you apply through them.

DubaiTypingCenters.com does not offer an Emirates ID service. These are ICP's published fees, so you can check any quote against them.

Worked out by visa length

The resident fee scales with the residence permit the card is linked to:

Residence length ICP card fee
1 year AED 200
2 years, a standard employment or family visa AED 300
3 years AED 400
5 years, such as a Green visa AED 600
10 years, a Golden visa AED 1,100

This is AED 100 times the years, plus the AED 100 smart fee. The card ends when the visa ends, so you pay for the years of residence, not a fixed card life. For the full cost of a 10-year residence, see our Golden visa cost page.

What a family pays

Every resident gets a card, including children. A sponsor with a spouse and two children, all on 2-year visas, pays AED 300 for each of the four cards in ICP fees. A newborn's first card is priced the same way as any resident's. The family visa page shows how the card fits into the total cost of sponsoring a family.

What typing centers charge on top

A typing center fills in and submits the form for you. Published price lists of Dubai typing centers, PRO firms and agencies, checked , show about AED 40 to AED 100 for an Emirates ID form. ICP has at times reported a separate e-form fee for typing offices against online applications; we could not confirm the current amount, so ask for the breakdown.

A fair quote lists the ICP fee and the center's charge as separate lines. If one figure covers both, ask which part is ICP's. Our guide to typing center services explains what else a center does for that charge.

Costs people forget

  • The photo. For a renewal, ICP wants a photo that differs from the one on your current card.
  • Urgent collection. Standard cards come by courier at no listed extra cost. The urgent card is collected at an ICP center and costs AED 150 more.
  • Late fines. Missing the 30 day window after expiry starts the AED 20 a day fine, up to AED 1,000.
  • A new passport. Report it within 30 days, or the same daily fine applies.
