Dubai visa for Iranians

Iranian citizens need a visa before travelling to Dubai. For a GDRFA tourist visa, Iranians must send a national ID card along with the passport, a rule GDRFA applies to four nationalities.

Iranian citizens need a Dubai visa issued before travel; the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists Iran as visa required. The main difference from other nationalities is paperwork: GDRFA's tourist visa conditions require Iranian applicants to provide a national ID card as well as the passport. Fees are the same as for everyone else, from AED 210 for a 30-day tourist visa.

The national ID rule

GDRFA lists the conditions for its single and multiple-entry tourist visas as a passport valid for at least 6 months, an onward ticket, health insurance valid in the UAE and, for citizens of Iraq, Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan, a national ID. Checked .

For an Iranian applicant, that means:

  • A scan of the Iranian national ID card (kart-e melli), front and back, clear and in colour.
  • The name and date of birth on the card must match the passport.
  • Send a card that is valid and readable, not a damaged or expired one.

The agency filing your visa will ask for it. If they do not, ask why, because a file without it can be returned.

Family and business ties to Dubai

If you have relatives living in the UAE, one of them can sponsor you on an ICP visit visa of 30, 60 or 90 days if they meet the income test for your relationship: AED 4,000 a month for first-degree relatives, AED 8,000 for second and third-degree, AED 15,000 for friends. The visa must be used within 60 days of issue and can be extended to 120 days in all.

Traders and business owners who come often can ask about ICP's 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa (AED 3,720, including a refundable AED 3,000 guarantee) or, if they plan to base a company in Dubai, a licence and investor residence; see business setup in Dubai.
