Dubai visa for Turkish citizens

Yes, Turkish citizens need a visa for Dubai. Turkiye is on the UAE's visa required list, and living in Germany or another EU country does not change that. A Dubai tourism establishment applies for the visa before you fly.

Turkish citizens need a visa to visit Dubai. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the Republic of Turkiye as visa required, so the visa must be issued before you board, by a Dubai travel agency, hotel or airline package. A 30-day single-entry tourist visa is AED 210 in GDRFA fees. A residence in Germany, the Netherlands or another EU country does not open a visa on arrival for Turkish passports.

Why an EU residence does not help

People often read that "EU residents get a visa on arrival in the UAE". That rule belongs to ICP's visa for nationals residing abroad, and it is limited by nationality. On ICP listed the eligible passports as India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa. Turkiye is not among them. A Turkish citizen with a German residence permit is treated like any Turkish traveller and needs a visa issued in advance.

Tourist visa options

A Dubai tourism establishment applies to GDRFA for you. Fees with VAT:

Visa Fee
30 days, single entry AED 210
60 days, single entry AED 315
30 days, multiple entry AED 315
60 days, multiple entry AED 525

GDRFA conditions: passport valid at least 6 months, an onward or return ticket, and health insurance valid in the UAE. GDRFA states 48 hours. Checked .

Multiple entry is worth it if you plan a side trip to Oman or a flight home and back inside the same period. A single-entry visa ends when you leave.

Business travellers and frequent visitors

Turkish business travellers who fly into Dubai several times a year have two better options than repeat tourist visas:

  • ICP 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa. AED 3,720 in total, of which AED 3,000 is a refundable guarantee. You need a bank balance of USD 4,000 for the last 6 months and UAE health insurance. Each stay is up to 90 days, extendable, with a cap of 180 days a year from first entry.
  • Residence through a company. If the business is moving to Dubai, an investor or partner visa through a licence takes over. The business setup in Dubai page explains the licence step, and the golden visa UAE page covers the long-term residence for qualifying investors.

Visiting a relative

If a family member lives in the UAE, they can sponsor an ICP visit visa for 30, 60 or 90 days. The sponsor's monthly income must be at least AED 4,000 for a parent, child or spouse, AED 8,000 for second or third-degree relatives and AED 15,000 for a friend. A refundable guarantee of AED 1,000 single entry or AED 2,000 multiple entry is paid. Fee breakdown on the Dubai visit visa page.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. Assuming a Schengen visa or EU residence gives a visa on arrival.
  2. Travelling on a passport with under 6 months left.
  3. Single entry chosen when the plan includes leaving and coming back.
  4. Staying past the last day. There is no stated grace period for visit visas, and the fine is AED 50 a day: see overstay fine in Dubai.

Check whether the visa is issued, and its expiry, on the GDRFA tool from visa status check.

How we can help

Send the passport scan, a photo and the travel dates, and say if anyone in the UAE is sponsoring. The partner team chooses single or multiple entry based on the itinerary, files the GDRFA or ICP application, and sends the e-visa once issued. For a 5-year visa they check the bank statement covers the full 6 months before filing. You get one total price in advance, with the government fee and the service charge on separate lines.
