Dubai visa for Tanzanians

Tanzanian citizens need a Dubai visa issued before travel. The right one depends on why you are going: a holiday, buying stock for a business, visiting family or looking for work.

Tanzanians need a visa issued before travelling to Dubai. The United Republic of Tanzania is on the UAE's visa required list, and Tanzanian passports are not covered by the residence-based visa on arrival. Which visa to get depends on the reason for the trip; the most common is a GDRFA tourist visa from AED 210 for 30 days, applied for by a Dubai tourism establishment.

Match the visa to the trip

Reason for the trip Visa Key numbers
A holiday of up to a month GDRFA tourist visa, 30 days single entry AED 210
A longer holiday GDRFA tourist visa, 60 days single entry AED 315
Buying stock, back and forth within a month GDRFA tourist visa, 30 days multiple entry AED 315
Several business trips every year ICP 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa AED 3,720, of which AED 3,000 is a refundable guarantee

Holidays

A Dubai travel agency, hotel or airline holiday service applies for you. GDRFA asks for a passport with 6 months of validity, an onward ticket and health insurance valid in the UAE, and states 48 hours. Agencies add a service fee on top of the GDRFA amount; online prices for 30 days are about AED 336 to AED 350.

Business buying trips

Traders who fly up regularly to buy goods should not pay for a new single-entry visa each time. Two options:

  • Multiple entry for a month or two. AED 315 for 30 days or AED 525 for 60 days, so you can leave and come back within the period.
  • ICP 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa. Up to 90 days per stay, 180 days a year from first entry. You need a bank balance of USD 4,000 over the last 6 months and UAE health insurance. Most of the AED 3,720 is a guarantee you get back.

A tourist or 5-year visa covers buying trips, meetings and visits. It does not allow you to work for a Dubai company or run one from inside the UAE; for that, see business setup in Dubai.

Visiting family

A relative living in the UAE applies to ICP. They need a monthly income of AED 4,000 to sponsor a parent, child or spouse, AED 8,000 for second or third-degree relatives and AED 15,000 for a friend, plus a refundable guarantee. The visa must be used within 60 days of issue and can be extended to 120 days.

Job hunting

A tourist visa does not let you work, and an employer who hires you on one is in breach too. The job seeker visa UAE is the visa built for this. Once you have an offer, the employer arranges the work permit and entry permit, and a status change moves you onto it without leaving.

During the trip

Check your visa on GDRFA with the steps on visa status check. Leave by the last permitted day; the fine is AED 50 a day after that.

How we help

Tell us the reason for the trip, the dates and whether anyone in the UAE sponsors you. The partner team recommends the visa from the table above, files it with the documents in the accepted format, and sends the e-visa when it is issued. For traders, they compare repeated tourist visas with the 5-year visa on total cost. One total price is agreed first, with government fees and the service charge listed separately. WhatsApp us or use the form.

Questions people ask

Do Tanzanians need a visa to visit Dubai?

Yes. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the United Republic of Tanzania as visa required. The visa must be issued before you travel.

Which Dubai visa suits a Tanzanian trader who buys stock in Dubai?

For several short trips a year, a multiple-entry tourist visa (AED 315 for 30 days) or ICP's 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa, which allows up to 180 days a year.

Can Tanzanians get a Dubai visa on arrival?

No. Tanzania is not on ICP's residence-based visa list either, so even Tanzanians living in the UK or EU need a visa in advance.

How much is a Dubai visa from Tanzania?

GDRFA's tourist visa is AED 210 for 30 days and AED 315 for 60 days, single entry. Agencies add their own service fee.

Can I look for work in Dubai on a tourist visa?

A tourist visa does not allow you to work. The UAE's job seeker visa is designed for people looking for work and does not need a sponsor.
