Dubai visa for Moroccans

Moroccan citizens need a visa before travelling to Dubai. A residence card from Spain, France, Italy or another EU country does not give a visa on arrival to Moroccan passports. Apply through a Dubai agency or a relative in the UAE.

Moroccans need a visa to visit Dubai. The Kingdom of Morocco is on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs' visa required list, and that holds even if you live in Spain, France, Belgium or another EU country. The visa is applied for by a Dubai tourism establishment (a GDRFA tourist visa from AED 210) or by a relative living in the UAE who sponsors an ICP visit visa.

Questions Moroccan travellers ask

"I live in Europe. Isn't there a visa on arrival for EU residents?"

There is one, but not for Moroccan passports. ICP's visa for nationals residing abroad, widened on , lists seven nationalities: India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa. Morocco is not among them, so a Spanish or French residence card does not let you skip the visa.

"Who applies for me?"

You cannot apply to GDRFA directly as a tourist. A Dubai travel agency, hotel or airline holiday service files the tourist visa. If a relative or friend lives in the UAE, they apply to ICP as your sponsor.

"What does it cost?"

GDRFA tourist visas, VAT included, checked :

Length Single entry Multiple entry
30 days AED 210 AED 315
60 days AED 315 AED 525

Agencies add a service fee. An ICP visit visa sponsored by a relative is priced differently: AED 100 application, AED 100 a month issuance for single entry, AED 100 smart services, AED 20 deposit fee, and a refundable guarantee of AED 1,000.

"My husband lives in Dubai. Can he bring us?"

Yes. For a spouse and children, the sponsor's income must be at least AED 4,000 a month. Each person needs their own visa. If the family is moving to Dubai rather than visiting, a residence through the family visa is the right route; it needs an attested marriage certificate and, for children, attested birth certificates.

"What documents should I prepare?"

A passport with at least 6 months left, a photo on a white background, a return or onward ticket and health insurance valid in the UAE. A sponsor adds their Emirates ID, residence and salary proof.

"How long does it take?"

GDRFA states 48 hours for a complete tourist visa. Apply a week ahead.

Reasons Moroccan applications are returned

  • The sponsor's salary is below the tier: AED 8,000 is needed for a sister or cousin, AED 15,000 for a friend.
  • The passport photo does not meet the white background rule.
  • A name written in a different order on the passport and on the booking.
  • A previous overstay.

On the trip

Check the visa is issued with the GDRFA tool, explained on visa status check. Leave before the last day; overstaying costs AED 50 a day (overstay fine).

Questions people ask

Do Moroccans need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the Kingdom of Morocco as visa required, so the visa must be issued before travel.

I am Moroccan with a Spanish residence card. Do I get a visa on arrival?

No. ICP's visa for EU residents applies only to India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa. Moroccans need a visa in advance wherever they live.

How much is a 30-day Dubai visa for Moroccans?

GDRFA charges AED 210 for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa, VAT included. A 60-day single-entry visa is AED 315.

Can my husband in Dubai sponsor a visit visa for me and the children?

Yes. A spouse and children are first-degree relatives, so he needs a monthly income of at least AED 4,000 for an ICP visit visa for each of you.

What happens if my visa is refused?

The government fee is usually not refunded. Fix the reason, such as the sponsor's income tier or a passport with too little validity, before applying again.
